Pilates for Longevity
The all-in-one Pilates, strength, mobility, and fascia program built to keep you moving with ease — not stiffness — for decades to come.
Created by Shannon Hershman, a former professional dancer who healed her own "incurable" diagnosis and built the program she wished existed for herself and her clients.
On demand classes. A brand new class every week. Beginners welcome.
Yes! I'm ready to free my body.Life leaves a mark on your body.
Not just aging.
The stress.
The desk job.
The workouts without recovery.
The injuries.
The pregnancies.
The grief.
The years of rushing.
The tension you didn't even realize you were carrying.
Maybe you've noticed it.
You sit down to put on your shoes.
Your hips feel stiff after a day at your desk.
Getting down to the floor feels like a chore.
Your feet ache after standing all day.
You avoid reaching overhead because your shoulder pinches.
Over time, your body adapts.
It moves less.
It protects itself.
You stop twisting.
You stop squatting.
You stop reaching overhead.
Eventually you assume,
"I guess this is just getting older."
But it isn't.
Your body simply isn't moving through the full range it was designed for anymore—and years of everyday life can take a toll.
Does Your Body Feel Different Than It Used To?
You wonder...
âś“ You feel stiff when you first get out of bed.
âś“ Your hips tighten after sitting for too long.
âś“ Â Your feet feel tired and achy by the end of the day.
âś“ Your shoulder pinches when you reach overhead.
âś“ You avoid movements you used to do without thinking.
âś“ You feel younger inside than your body sometimes feels.
âś“ Massage and chiropractic care provide relief, but the results don't always last.Â
✓ You cross-train, lift, or play sports — but know mobility and recovery are the missing piece.
✓ You want to stay ahead of stiffness and pain — not wait until it shows up.
Whether you're feeling it already or working to stay ahead of it, here are the three biggest reasons your body gets stiffer over time.
The 3 Biggest Reasons Your Body Feels Stiffer Over Time
Â
1. Stress, Trauma & Your Nervous System
Stress, trauma, and your nervous system don't just affect your mind—they affect your body. When your nervous system senses a threat, your muscles tighten to protect you. While this response is normal, ongoing stress or unresolved trauma can keep your body in a more guarded state. Over time, that tension can contribute to stiffness, discomfort, and restricted movement.
2. Hormonal Changes & Aging
As we age, our fascia naturally becomes less hydrated and less elastic. The tissue doesn't glide as smoothly, making the body feel tighter and less mobile. For many women, these changes accelerate during perimenopause and menopause, while men typically experience them more gradually.
3. Repeating the Same Movements
Your body wasn't designed to move in only one or two directions. Sitting, walking, or doing the same exercises every day can leave parts of your fascia underused.
To prevent getting tight and stiff, fascia needs variety—bending, twisting, reaching, rotating, stretching, and strengthening through different ranges of motion, exactly what Pilates for Longevity was designed to do.
The Program I Wish Existed
Â
I created Pilates for Longevity because traditional Pilates wasn't enough. I kept watching clients lose the ability to do things that should feel natural — like getting up off the floor without thinking about it.
I knew people needed more than traditional mat and equipment work: real strength training for their bones, mobility work for their joints, and fascia care for the tightness underneath it all. So I built the program I wished existed.

Shannon Hershman
Founder, Be Well My Body™ & Creator of Pilates for Longevity
Shannon Hershman knows what it's like to be told your body will never work the way you want it to. Diagnosed with an "incurable" autoimmune disease (Ankylosing Spondylitis) that caused chronic pain, she found her way back to health naturally — and has stayed there for over a decade.
Backed by a degree in Biology, a background as a professional dancer, and 25+ years teaching Pilates, she combined Pilates, strength training, mobility work, and fascia-focused movement into a single method designed for the best possible outcome in how you move, feel, and function.
Feel Better. Move Better. Live Better.
