Injury Prevention for Youth Athletes
Empowering youth athletes to optimize their recovery and performance
Say goodbye to tight muscles, knots, and pain
If you have a dancer or youth athlete, you may not realize how much hidden muscle tension they’re carrying—tension that can build over time, leading to aches, stiffness, and injuries.
In this 1:1 session, your child will learn how to identify tight areas in their body before discomfort starts—and how to safely release that tension. They’ll gain hands-on experience with foam rolling and myofascial release techniques, plus strategies to process emotions that can show up as physical tightness.
This isn’t just recovery—it’s lifelong self-care. By learning these skills, young athletes can move with greater ease, prevent injuries, and improve flexibility, mobility, and overall performance.
Each athlete will need a foam roller, tennis ball, golf ball, and a journal. Three sessions are recommended to allow ample time to work through the body and discuss techniques.
Schedule NowWhere Do Tight Muscles Come From?Â
It’s easy to blame repetitive use, but tightness runs much deeper. A dysregulated nervous system, inefficient breathing patterns, chronic stress, and unprocessed emotions are often held in the fascia. Over time, this creates tension and adhesions that can pull the body out of alignment—setting the stage for chronic pain and injuries.
Certain personality patterns are more prone to storing this tension in the tissues, especially those who are:
-
Highly driven and goal-oriented
-
Time-urgent and impatient
-
Perfectionistic or self-critical
-
Productivity-focused with difficulty resting
-
Chronically stressed or easily activated
-
Constantly multitasking or “always on”
-
Control-oriented
-
Prone to pushing through fatigue or pain
-
Often operating in fight-or-flight
-
Tending toward shallow or restricted breathing
What You’ll Get
In this 1:1 session, your dancer or athlete will learn both physical and emotional tools that support healthy fascia and ease chronic tension.
They’ll be guided through safe myofascial release and foam rolling techniques to reduce muscle knots, relieve discomfort, and restore freedom of movement.
They’ll also be introduced to strategies for recognizing and releasing emotional stress that can show up as physical tightness. This approach not only helps reduce the risk of future injury, but also gives them practical, lifelong tools to manage stress, recover more efficiently, and stay resilient—both in their sport and beyond.
